Article 5 - Kristen Simmons

Could this main character BE more annoying? This girl can't even manage to navigate a crowded town square without a "big strong man" to hold her hand through it. Then, she gets separated from "big strong man" and starts shouting "Help me!" in the crowded town square that is surrounded by soldiers when she is a FUGITIVE ON THE RUN! *headdesk*

Warning: DO NOT use Anonymouse.org as a Web Proxy

Anonymouse.org, despite its claims, doesn't work. I have been playing with an IP tracker tool on my new blog, and I experimented this morning by hitting my site using a few popular web proxies to see how well they hid my information.

I was shocked to find out that Anonymouse.org doesn't even work! However, Zfreez.com and iphider.org worked as advertised.

Zfreez.com

worked perfectly. It displayed as if I was a visitor from France. I recommend it.

IPhider.org

worked perfectly. It displayed as if I was a visitor from Florida. I recommend it.

Anonymouse.org

did not hide my information at all. In fact, it announced that I was using 'anonymouse.org' as a web proxy. A complete fail.

Witch Fall

Witch Fall - Amber Argyle Can't wait for this book!

REBLOG: Interesting, author doesn't think her book advocates rape.

"The amount of sexism, gender essentialism, and caveman logic within its pages is so appalling that it's difficult to believe that her book is anything but a cry for help."

Good grief

Just One Day - Gayle Forman

Get over it already! I really want to reach into this book and shake this girl right now!

Update: Somehow, the last chapter changed my mind about this whole book...Still annoyed with most of it, however.

Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 9) - J.R. Ward The AAaaaaaaaand's all over this book were annoying. Ward has a damn creative way with words, but sometimes it is a little over the top. Quality is always better than quantity, in my opinion.

I still love this series, though! I'm in love with every one of these poor, shattered, butstillabletofindlove characters.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - Seth Grahame-Smith I had to. I had to put it down. I just found myself...not really caring how it ended. The premise was interesting, however, it seemed to me that the best parts of the book were largely all in Abraham Lincoln's head, as in, they happened in his nightmares. The real life action in the book seemed to pale in comparison to the drama birthed in Abe's dreams.
This is Not a Test - Courtney Summers I enjoyed this book a lot for my first ever zombie genre book. I don't typically like zombie movies because they tend to be predictable, but this book was entertaining from beginning to end. I felt that a lot of the action was left for the very end and maybe there could have been a tad bit more buildup to it, but I did love how it ended.
Pandemonium - Lauren Oliver I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!
Crossed - Ally Condie I really loved Ky's point of view in Crossed by Allie Condie. I got this book on audiobook from my library and the guy who did Ky's narration was perfect for his voice. I wish all male parts of audiobooks were read by Jack Riccobono!
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin Wow!
Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare This was the best book I have read in a WHILE. I cannot think of a single thing I didn't like about this book.

I loved the writing. The sophistication of it along with the British accent thrown in. The story was brilliant. The ending was wonderful and unexpected. This book definitely got me out of a bit of a reading slump.

Poor Will! I feel so badly for him. He finally realizes he can have the girl only to find that he is too late.

The Sookie Stackhouse Companion - Charlaine Harris I really enjoyed this book. I really appreciated the summary and timeline of what happened in each book. I was startng to find myself getting lost in between waiting for the newest book to come out and so this really helped refresh my memory. It also reminded me just how much True Blood deviates from the book. Not all bad, but nice to be reminded.

The novella was also very nice and showed a little more of the battle that the two-natured (toeys) must be fighting on their front since "coming out". I just love Sam, so having him in the whole novella was like a Christmas present for me! :)

I didn't find the correspondence between Bill and Eric to be believeable. I can't imagine the two of them chatting on the phone like two teenage girls and discussing Sookie as if she were a child and not a competent adult. It was also confusing as it was always placed at the end of each book's summary and included events already covered in the summary.
Destined - Kristin Cast, P.C. Cast I never noticed before the difference in the two styles of writing between P.C. And Kristen, but since I read a review where a book blogger brought up how she could tell the difference and now it is so glaringly obvious! You would think they would iron that out in editing a little more.

1. Stevie Rae's accent dissappears almost completely sometimes. Other times it is ridiculous! (Sayin', takin', seein', 'preciate, 'specially, purrin', y'all, etc.) I don't think continuity is too much to ask of a book.
2. The overuse of the word seriously is annoying.
3. How many times can BFF be used in one book?
4. This book also overused the word super (super important, super purple, super creepy, super anxious, super crazy and it goes on and on and on)
5. I really don't appreciate how they use the word "stuff".
6. Nisroc talks like Yoda.
7. They actually use the word pussy in this book, that is all I got to say about that.
Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir - Steven Tyler Bloody brilliant! So honest and raw, no holds barred, no holding back, tell it like it is! Just like The Steven we know and love! Sone of it was kind of out there, but then again, Steven Tyler is kinda out there!

This guy has so much heart and attitude. He has seen it and done it all and lived to tell about it. It took him a while, but he seems tto have found his way.

Way to go, Steven, keep it up!
90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life - Don Piper, Cecil Murphey I am so glad I am not the only person so give this book only one or two stars. I'm trying not to feel guilty about giving it such a mow rating, but I just wasn't feeling it. In fact, I could probably classify this book as a DNF (did not finish). I really just scanned the last half of it. I found it to be more disheartening than uplifting and just a bad mood in general.

I would recommend reading Heaven is for Real instead.
